Over Christmas 2019, December 24 to 26 (Christmas Day was a Wednesday), 272 people died in 238 fatal car accidents on US roads, 4% more than the 261 on the same weekdays around it. It was the eighth most of the ten from 2015 to 2024. Christmas Day alone: 101 deaths, against 89 on a normal day. Christmas Eve alone: 93 deaths, against 82 on a normal day.
